BCause, A direct-to-consumer online grocer meant to disrupt a stale industry.
What We Did
BCause is an online marketplace with a mission to shake up the traditional grocery industry by making local goods and grocery shopping more accessible to consumers while also uplifting small to medium producers.
BCause, known previously as “Doorway Drop”, asked us to design a new brand identity to better showcase their mission and to differentiate the brand from other grocery retailers.
Personality & Charm at the Forefront
One of the issues we initially found with BCause’s previous iteration was that it looked too much like the commercially sterile and traditional grocery brands that the founders were trying to disrupt.
To remedy this, we worked closely with BCause’s founders to design a new identity that is bold and bright, yet friendly and accessible. To further separate them from competitors, we created a set of proprietary illustrations featuring anthropomorphic grocery staples reminiscent of retro cartoons and product cardboard box mascots that one will usually see in a small, neighbourhood mom-and-pop produce store.
By combining a bold logo and typography, fun and friendly illustrations, and an effervescent colour palette we’ve created a brand identity that is representative of BCause’s mission and values.
