Serif is an award-winning literary marketing and publicity agency working across Canada, the U.S., and beyond.
At a pivotal point of growth, Serif approached us for a brand that better reflected their identity: strategic yet creative, understated yet confident. We set out to build a system that felt as sharp as their writing and as intentional as their work.
Drawing from book design, editorial layouts, and literary ephemera, we created a brand that feels timeless and intelligent—avoiding clichés while honouring the craft of storytelling. The result is a refined, editorial identity anchored by a custom wordmark and a monogram seal—a fluid, intertwined “S” that signals authorship and care.
Supporting the system is a suite of surreal illustrations where books take unexpected forms, each a metaphor for the way Serif shapes and delivers stories. A crisp serif type system and a restrained palette of warm black, cream, and yellow carry the brand across print, decks, and digital with quiet confidence.
